Accusations Of Being A Pedophile Spark Attack
OILDALE, Calif. -- A woman is in custody after, police said, she allegedly attacked a man and accused him of being a pedophile.
Nicole Antonucci resisted arrest and had to be stunned with a Taser and pepper sprayed by deputies, according to sheriff's officials.
Police said Buddy Graham was beaten and bruised during the assault that left his shirt torn and nerves rattled. Graham said he was falsely accused.
The incident happened Monday afternoon in the 200 block of North Chester Avenue. The victim said this was not the first time he has been assaulted on the streets.
Witnesses said Antonucci called Graham a pedophile and other witnesses said that Antonucci is a "nut case" who is on drugs.
Graham had contacted 23 ABC recently because he said he was attacked at Riverview Park weeks ago for the same type of accusation by a different woman.
"I was walking down the street and she came up to me and asked me for a lighter. Then she turned around and said, 'You S.O.B,' and started hitting me," said Graham.
"She was acting crazy and chasing that guy with a knife calling him a pedophile," said witness William Francis.
Graham called 911. He told the operator that he wanted to make a citizen's arrest, according to sheriff's officials.
Deputies said when they arrived, Antonucci began resisting arrest. They said Antonucci, who is about 5 feet tall and weighs about 100 pounds, got out of her handcuffs and even took a baton away from one of the deputies.
"They Tased her twice and shot her with pepper spray a few times. It finally took about four deputies to get this small woman under control. But I think they had every right because she was way out of control," said Francis.
Graham said he had no idea why Antonucci attacked him, and he wonders if it was a case of mistaken identity because this was the second time this had happened.
"I don't know why people keep saying these horrible things about me. She is either high on cocaine, crack or meth. Maybe she has a mental disease," said Graham.
According to court records and Megan's Law website, Graham has never been arrested for a sexual crime and is not a registered sex offender.
Antonucci was arrested and charged with felony resisting arrest and battery. She was taken to Kern Medical Center and was being treated for superficial wounds she got while resisting arrest, according to the Sheriff's Department. ..Source.. by Mark Christian
