5-25-2004 South Carolina: Newberry County) - A Greenville teenager is behind bars in Newberry County charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct with a Minor First Degree.
Newberry Sheriff Lee Foster says over the weekend 18-year-old George Pierson (left) committed a sexual assault on a 5-year-old girl. He says when officers reached the scene at a Whitmire residence, the 5-year-old's father was striking Pierson with a tire iron.
The Sheriff says deputies stopped the assault. Pierson was taken to the hospital for his injuries then to the Newberry County Detention Center.
His bond has been set at $50,000. Foster says no charges will be filed against the father. ..more.. : by WLTX.com)
